Before coming to orientation tonight, I couldn't quite put in perspective how significant it is for me to be named a Chips Quinn Scholar. But after being treated to a delicious (and elegant) three-course dinner and hearing CQS program Founder John Quinn and the other speakers, I realize what an opportunity I'd been given.
I feel honored and privileged knowing I have three more days to meet people passionate about journalism, something I, myself, am looking to refine. And the fact that CQS Program Director Karen Catone ensured it would be fun made me thankful that I was not sitting at my desk trying to beat deadline today.
Also, all the Chipsters I've met today have been awesome and I'm looking forward to getting to know all of them better this weekend.
