Introductions...

Martha's Take on Day 1:

I could sense the dread around the room as the time was getting closer for our individual introductions. You'd think that as journalists we'd be used to speaking in public without that initial fear, but alas, public speaking still causes anxiety in a lot of us. I enjoyed listening to the Scholars speak about themselves. It gave me a chance to get a feel for their personalities. I hope I get to know everyone beyond a superficial level.

The first day is over and I survived. It wasn't bad at all. Dinner was delicious and the speakers were encouraging. The Chips Quinn experience began with a bang.
